Abstract

To ensure universal access to sustainable, reliable, and affordable water supply and sanitation (WSS) services, the right types of financing need to be attracted. This study analyzed the characteristics and results of 62 completed World Bank WSS projects to understand their performance and main results. The data analysis of the projects allowed to draw parallels between the projects’ results and bank performance, and key aspects of the projects (such as the type of project, initial risk assessments, final risk assessments, commitments and disbursements, and more).
