Preface: The 19th Global Congress on Manufacturing and Management (GCMM2025) ^†

This book is a carefully curated collection of scientific papers presented at the 19th Global Congress on Manufacturing and Management (GCMM 2025), which took place in Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, India, from December 10 to December 12, 2025. This prestigious event was organized jointly by seven renowned universities from around the world: Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, India; University of Southern Queensland, Australia; Liverpool John Moores University, United Kingdom; Coventry University, United Kingdom; University of Minho, Portugal; Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, Poland; and Rajamangala University of Technology Krungthep, Thailand.

GCMM 2025 brought together around 220 participants from across the globe, including leading researchers and key industry leaders from the aerospace and automotive sectors. The primary goal of the conference was to serve as a knowledge-sharing platform for scientists, experts, and practitioners in the field of manufacturing and management. Through keynote sessions, presentations, and discussions, participants explored the avenues for advancing manufacturing systems and automation from the perspective of sustainable manufacturing for global economy. This publication presents cutting-edge research and groundbreaking solutions on innovative manufacturing systems and automation. Contributions related to artificial intelligence in non-destructive testing, systems monitoring, intelligent control of production systems, and AI-based image processing for manufacturing applications are included in this book. Research outcomes on intelligent manufacturing systems, digital manufacturing and industrial internet of things (IIoT), automation, robotics and assembly systems, smart manufacturing, and intelligent solutions for Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 are provided. Readers will find both theoretical analyses and practical implementations, supporting the advancement of manufacturing systems and automation for a sustainable economy.

After a rigorous single-blind review process, with at least two independent reviewers per paper, the committee accepted nine papers selected from 162 submissions authored by about 250 researchers from various countries. The acceptance rate was approximately 5.6%. Members of the review committee were responsible for reviewing the papers.

This exceptional publication serves as a valuable resource for researchers, engineers, managers, and all professionals interested in the future of manufacturing systems and automation.
