Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The article is well descriptive, the author tried their best to provide the details with recent updates on COVID-19 variants. This article has my support for publication with minor revisions as I mentioned below.

-the quality of the figure with low resolution on my screen and get pixilated on zoom in and, it was hard for me to read the text. I would suggest improving the quality that would be great for the readers. In figure1 there are some weird lines around the figure but not a full rectangle, please try to improve that.
- There are a few typographical errors in the text as highlighted in the attached pdf, resolve those errors before final publication.

Reviewer 2 Report

The manuscript with the title of "Deciphering the neurosensory olfactory pathway and associated neo-immunometabolic vulnerabilities implicated in Covid-associated mucormycosis (CAM) and Covid-19 in a diabetes backdrop - A Novel Perspective" has provided a good summary on this topic.

I have some minor suggestions:

Figures 1-5 are not easy to follow. I suggest recreating these figures. The font is very small and there is a lot of information that can be summarized to make the figures more effective. Especially Figure 1, 2, 3

The author gathered important information but there is no input of his thoughts in the conclusion. I suggest including a conclusion section regarding their perspective

Reviewer 3 Report

The manuscript entitled Deciphering the neurosensory olfactory pathway and associated neo-immunometabolic vulnerabilities implicated in Covid-associated mucormycosis (CAM) and Covid-19 in a diabetes backdrop - A Novel Perspective by sharma et al. propose unique neo-vulnerabilities associated with diabetes that may modify the olfactory mucosal immune landscape during airway infections such as COVID-19 and CAM. The manuscript is well written and presented in proper scientific way.

Therefore, I consider that this manuscript is suitable for publication. However, below are a few concerns which author should address?

  1. The authors have performed the transcriptomic profiling and data are presented in the manuscript however there is no methodology given authors should add methods.
  2. Authors should add conclusion at the end of manuscript.
