Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The paper is a great contribution to the scientific research but there are some points to be addressed by the author before final submission.

1.      If you are talking about decay of phenome, you must mention decay rate equation and discuss it.

2.      Decay time is also important discuss it as well.

3.      The sudden figure after result and discussion heading is odd. Move it to some proper place and start discussion with a paragraph.

4.      Reference no 2 is not of Luo et al. correct it. Cross check all refereces once you revised the document

Reviewer 2 Report

The manuscript demonstrated the measurements of ultrafast phonon decay in BaSnO3 (BSO), STiO3 (STO), and in KTiOPO4 (KTP) crystal. The results will benefit the the research community. I would like to recommend it to be published in Optics after the authors address the following comments:

1. The quality of the inset of figure 1 (the delay figure) should be improved.

2. The ticks of figure 2 (c) and (d) are better towards outside instead of inside.

3. Which theoretical model was used to fit the figure 2, 3, and 4?

4. In figure 2, 3, and 4, why do the figures fall sharper at the beginning and slower later?

5. To generate the CARS signal, do is require phase matching?

6. Will phase noise and intensity noise affect the measurements?
