Thanks for the opportunity to review this manuscript. I had an interesting reading of the manuscript which proposed a two-phase variable selection method and illustrated this process by selecting variables related to the proficiency of adult competency. The manuscript is well done. I think it is a valuable contribution which deserves publication.
