Sensory Drivers and Emotional Determinants of Low- and Non-Alcoholic Beer Acceptance Among Young Romanian Consumers
Highlights
- Flavored low-alcohol beers, particularly the grapefruit-flavored sample, showed greater consumer acceptance than the unflavored alcohol-free beer.
- Consumer preference was linked to fruity and aromatic characteristics, supported by visual cues such as clarity and beer foam, while LNAB consumption was predominantly associated with positive emotions and social contexts.
- Product development should prioritize fruity and aromatic profiles while retaining appealing visual characteristics to improve the sensory acceptance of low- and non-alcoholic beers.
- Marketing strategies can emphasize sensory enjoyment and positive social experiences, rather than focusing primarily on alcohol reduction, to support the positioning of LNABs among young consumers.
