The manuscript investigates the optimization of electrooxidation of ibuprofen using BDD electrode. This manuscript cannot be accepted in this form due to the following reasons:

  • The main reason is the originality. There are some articles on this topic which have already published such as:
    • Amanda B. Lima et al., Electrochemical Oxidation of Ibuprofen and Its Voltammetric Determination at a Boron‐Doped Diamond Electrode, 2013, Electroanalysis, Volume 25, Issue 7.
    • Chong Wang et al., Insights of ibuprofen electro-oxidation on metal-oxide-coated Ti anodes: Kinetics, energy consumption and reaction mechanisms, Chemosphere, Volume 163, November 2016, Pages 584-591.
    •
  • Just using software to optimize the process without deeply discussing scientific facts like reaction mechanism, voltammetric study, by-products, etc.

  • As the authors claimed, the cost of USD 0.002/ L is low, but this cost is not low. Maximum USD 0.001/L is acceptable.
