Model Validation for the Heat Transfer in Gasket Plate Heat Exchangers Working with Vegetable Oils
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
In this study, the semi-analytical model of Lévêque for heat transfer in gasket plate heat exchangers channels was validated. The results are meaningful for engineering applications. However, the novelty is lack for a published work. More depth understanding about this model should be discussed. In addition, the writing style and figure drawing should be improved.

Thank you for your invitation, and following is my comments on your manuscrip. 1. "Section 2. experimental setup and procedure" is too simple and defficient information on instrumentation, and uncertainty analysis etc. 2. In Table 2 and 3, what is "Correlation coefficient, r 2" ? 3. In Figure 2, what in the circle inside figuire? Also please refine to be clear. 4. In Fig. 3, the label in x-axis should refine. Aso figure quality should be improved. 5. As you mentioned in the manuscript, your work is mainly validation work of your model with experimental results. Hence, the experimental works should be explained in detail.Author Response

Authors are advised to make the experimental results obtained available so that the performed numerical fitting procedures can be replicated.
The values obtained by fitting and their uncertainties are often not correctly reported (e.g., constant C on page 8, line 220 or the data shown in Table 6). It is recommended to use the correct number of significant digits and the standard notation to express uncertainties. In this regard, we recommend as a reference the NIST guidance available at this link: https://www.nist.gov/pml/nist-technical-note-1297/nist-tn-1297-7-reporting-uncertainty
Table 5 is extremely dense with information, it is suggested to simplify the notation by reporting the not strictly necessary data in supplementary information.
It is recommended to produce figures in vector format with a different software.

This paper proposes Model validation for the heat transfer in gasket plate heat exchangers working with vegetable oils. This manuscript is will-written and can be accepted after minor revision. The comments are shown as follows.
- The abstract should highlight more about the core idea or the method of this work.
- In the main context, the authors should point the advantage of the proposed model compared with the previous ones in literature.
- Is it possible to test more examples to demonstrate the proposed models or methods.
- The conclusion section should be rewritten.
