This is a very well written paper. I have very minimal suggestions.

- A clear hypothesis in the beginning may be very helpful that addresses the connection between long/short and ser/estar. I had to re-read a bit, and it is made clear after reading on, but a clear, one-sentence hypothesis may be helpful.

- The ser/estar distinction given in lines 36-38 in the introduction is not the most succinct. Since this is the introduction, I would give a more direct definition of the distinction here. The longer discussion of the definition is excellent, but this little piece in the introduction doesn't highlight some of the most important parts of ser/estar discussion.

- You've got 9a and 9b in both languages, and I'm just not sure why you didn't do the same for 10, especially since you reference both Spanish and Russian in reference to this example.

- I would have liked to hear a little more about frequency in the discussion. The discussion overall is very interesting.

-  The conclusion is very abrupt (maybe I was just enjoying the paper too much). I would like to see a few very clear sentences on findings, and the authors mentions contributions, but I think this could be more specific.
