Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

  1. The metasurface lens is not very novel. Please refer the paper: Frequency Selective Surfaces for Extended Bandwidth Backing Reflector Functions.
  2. The antenna geometry analysis should be explained in detail.
  3. Authors should compare the performance the proposed system with other latest state of the art.

A manuscript entitled “A Novel Metasurface Lens Design for Synthesizing Plane Wave in Millimeter Wave Band”. Where a FSS structure layer referred as metasurface lens is feed by 2 x 2 array. Following points will be useful to improve the manuscript.

Title: metasurface should start with upper case “M” for consistency.

As Jerusalem cross has been widely used as FSS in literature. Add some references related to the Jerusalem cross based FSS would add more significance to the presented design as most of them are not integrated with antennas like in work presented here.
