Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This is a very good and useful review paper on “the role of inflammation in atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction, heart failure, and focusing on current and possible future examples of the targeting of inflammation in prognosis and therapy.” The authors also summarize very well on the clinical trials on inflammation treatment. It is a high quality review paper.

Reviewer 2 Report

This review is very comprehensive and timely summarizes the role of inflammation in several major aspects of cardiovascular medicine focusing on current and possible future examples of the targeting of inflammation in prognosis and therapy. This review also discusses future directions of cardiovascular research and clinical practice which should seek to identify cohorts of patients with a significant inflammatory component to their cardiovascular condition or reaction to  cardiovascular intervention.

Overall, this is an excellent review.
