I reviewed the manuscript entitled, Effect of Storage Conditions on the Physicochemical Characteristics of Bilayer Edible Films Based on Iron. The manuscript is well written. However, authors must focus on comparing the findings with available literature.

Introduction

Too many references in the introduction. I suggest to remove old references

Provide the reference for the section “Film preparation and storage”

Provide a reference for color measurement

Provide a reference for Transmittance and haze, and water content

Results and discussion

Section 3.1. authors must discuss and compare the findings with literature. No studies are cited. Please provide reasoning for variations in color with literature support

Table 1. this is not readable

Section 3.2. no comparison with literature

Line 342: this is not an appropriate citation

All the section from 3.3.-3.6.: author should compare with available literature and provide reasoning for the obtained results

Effect of Storage Conditions on the Physicochemical Characteristics of Bilayer Edible Films Based on Iron

This is an interesting paper, regarding iron yam–pea starch blend / corn zein bilayer film having good barrier, mechanical and storage properties. Overall it’s a well written paper. I have following observations on this paper:

Results and Discussion:

In general, the results are only described. More detailed discussion and bibliographic support is needed. Experimental procedure and results obtained lack a comparison with results available and supported on literature.

Some Minor comments

Line 14 – Space “Abstract:Edible”

Line 16 – Mention RH with each temperature

Line 32 - good barrier, mechanical properties and storage properties – edit as “good barrier, mechanical and storage properties”
