Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The article presents an interesting and innovative solution for reducing air pollution in chicken houses with an automatic ground cleaning machine for dedusting rooms. The machine is designed to eliminate dust particles and debris from surfaces near or on the ground, thereby replacing the undesirable and hazardous cleaning tasks performed by humans, which can negatively impact their health. Generally, the article is well structured; however, table 3 seems too complex and confusing. Initially, I could not understand what you were trying to demonstrate here; for instance, I was not aware of the meaning of the letters “N” and “Y”. After some effort, I was able to understand this table, which lists the positions of the machine in the dedusting room, and whether each component of the machine is working or not at each position. So, try to fit the table into one single page, improve its readability, and give some details about it in the text, to help the user understand it.

I was not convinced with the choice of wheels for this application. They work well on a clean levelled floor, but I do not see this working in a chicken house. If you wish to keep the robot holonomic, consider switching to four directional rubber wheels (future work).

The authors should also provide information about the energy requirements of the robot. You are aware of all sensors and motors installed. So, you must have the knowledge to provide the minimum energy consumption of the robot in one hour. For instance, for one hour, this robot consumes 3 KW. As you address the environmental impact in your article, it is essential to consider the energy requirements for your solution.

Lastly, the authors should provide more information on the testing and validation of the machine. It is unclear whether the machine has been tested in real-world conditions and, if so, what the results were. It is also unclear if the robot was autonomous and if there is that intention in the future. If so, what approaches will be followed for localisation, path planning, supervision, and safety (refer in future work).

Overall, the article fits the scope of this journal and could be published after some improvements.

Dear Authors,

We are welcoming your efforts and appreciating for implementing autonomous ground cleaning machine for dedusting rooms of chicken house.  1. We appreciate your efforts in the fabrication of automatic machine for cleaning the chicken house.  2.  We observed, experiment validation was done for various parameters.   Comments/Questions 1.  We request authors to provide experimental validation videos . 2. Authors, haven't provided the power consumption details of automatic machine. 3. The authors, have performed the experiments with a certain computerized device.  Provide the details of computation device which are driving different activities of the motors and PLC.  4. How PLC is used for the automatic machine, explain it  with flow chart. Provide in detail computation approach how the motors are performed in parallel.  5. Authors, improve the conclusion with power consumption details and computation details.

The manuscript of agriculture-2409818 has been reviewed. There are several comments to consider as briefly listed below.

 - All symbols and the abbreviations should be mentioned in the nomenclature including formulas symbols.

- Type of motors should be specified.

- Table 3 could be as an index at the end.

- More mechanical design criteria should be explained.

- Figure and table captions should be clear and precise that are understandable without the text.

- The English quality should be improved by an academic editor.

- Conclusions should be improved. For examples, pros and cons and future works could be mentioned. This section should be without numbering.

It should be improved.
