Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The work is well planned and executed. I would like to support the potential publication of this paper due to its scientific interest.

However, there are numbers of grammar errors and confused descriptions in the manuscript. The manuscript is written in poor English and should be revised carefully. Some statements are too long and not necessary.

For the English grammar errors and problems in it, we have asked for help from MDPI English editor and have completed the correction. In addition, we have modified figure 12 and related descriptions to more intuitively highlight the fusion effect of the transitional area.

Reviewer 2 Report

Your approach for the multi-focus fusion method looks good based on the introduction and comparison with the existing fusion methods. In addition the improvements in transitional uncertain region should be clear in the visual effect and/or quantitative assessment.

We would like to thank you for your precious time and insightful comments, which help us improve the quality of the paper. We have now revised the paper in compliance with the comments and please see the attachment.

As the pixel area occupied by the transition region is very small compared with the whole image, it is difficult to evaluate the fusion quality quantitatively by the calculation index. Therefore, we have improved the transitional area in the visual effect, as shown in figure 12 and related discussions.

In addition, for the English grammar errors and problems in it, we have asked for help from MDPI English editor and have completed the correction.
