Round  1

Reviewer 1 Report

No comments. The authors describes his a clear vision and the promissing developments of optical antenna. The viewpoint is very interesting.

Reviewer 2 Report

This viewpoint, entitled "The invention of an Optical antenna: A personnal reminiscence" by W. D. Pohl, is relating the tremendous and pioneered work of W. D. Pohl and co-workers on optical antennas. This paper is very interesting to read first because of its simplicity and humility but also because it shows a possible scientific approach to the youngest researchers.

I therefore recommend this viewpoint to be published, in Applied sciences, as it is.
