Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This manuscript provides an overview of some extraction technologies of bioactive compounds from winery by-products. The manuscript is well articulated, and the results obtained are very interesting and useful in the comprehensive utilization of by-products. The overall paper is well articulated and is suitable for publication in its current form. Of course, if the layout of the table 1 and 2 can be optimized, it will be perfect.

Reviewer 2 Report

The manuscript entitled „ Potentialities of the extraction technologies and use of bioactive compounds from winery by-products: a circular bioeconomy perspective: A Review” is of great interest and scientific value.

However, I have a few comments and questions:

-          Line 191: “Bioactive compounds in wine by-products and by-products”  probably a repetition crept in

-          Lines 229, 235 – what the entry means “(Error! Reference source not found.)”

-          Table 2. Bioactive compounds reported in grape by-products with health and cosmetics interest. - Chemical structures should be drawn in one program, they look like they were copied from different sources

-          Chapter on modern extraction methods, which fit into green chemistry and circular bioeconomy, is too weakly developed in relation to the title of the review article.

Overall, the manuscript needs a minor revision and after that it will be suitable for publication in Applied Sciences.

Reviewer 3 Report

Interesting review and very well described.

Some short changes for you to review as to make this manuscript better:

Line 95--> accept changes

Line 229 & 235--> please check the references.

Table 2: Do you think that the chemical structures are necessary? If yes, why? You can delete this column and maximize the extraction methods and concentrations' columns. please Maximize the by-product column as not to have 2 letters on a different line.

Table 3: please minimize the second column and maximize effects column (smaller the table)

Please use the same outline throughout the manuscript (same font, same font size etc... i.e. Introduction and characterization of the grape cluster and vilification processes)
