Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The manuscript may be accepted if the following errors are corrected:

1. The authors need to draw some additional dimensions such as beam length, radius R of the cross-section, as well as some parameters as shown in Table 1 to make the article bright and easy for readers to read.

2. The manuscript should clearly state the basis for taking the values of two parameters "First Rayleigh damping coeffcient" and "Second Rayleigh damping coeffcient" as shown in Table 1. Because according to the explanation on page 4, these two coefficients depend into the two natural frequencies of the structure. This is a nonlinear oscillation problem, so the manuscript should clearly show how to get the values of these two parameters?

3. Why does the article only select 3 cases as shown in Table 2? Can crack depth be selected from 0-1? This needs further discussion in the manuscript. This survey will lead to the results as in Table 4, from which recommendations for defect detection

4. To enrich the introduction section, the authors should refer to some of the following related publications:

Because the article uses a structural calculation model with cracks, the introduction needs to clarify some methods of calculating the structure with cracks, for example.

Reviewer 2 Report

The manuscript "Damage detection in a rotor dynamic system by monitoring nonlinear vibrations and antiresonances of higher orders" proposes the evaluation of the early detection of damage in a rotor system. The use of numerical results is an interesting approach to the topic. Nevertheless, the authors don´t mention anything related to this subject. They use their own code, a commercial one, what kind of numerical method is employed, which are the boundary conditions, it´s a stationary or a transient numerical analysis.
