The study by Guo et al has many glaring issues. English should be followed. Follow the MDPI style for formatting the article. Also follow the MDPI style for headings and references. Also, add the line numbering.

1.      Follow the attached file. Add all my queries properly and adequately.

2.      The abstract should be focused only on the problem and brief results with some statistical values. Right now abstract need major revision. The abstract should be concise.

3.      I have addressed all the issues in the attached file. The introduction section needs proper modification, suggested studies should be cited, and add proper references for the claims. 7-8 references in the whole introduction section are not enough. Remove 2-3 sentence paragraphs. The last paragraph of the introduction should discuss the main objectives of the study.

4.      The Geology section needs more explanations in terms of tectonics and stratigraphy.

5.      Captions of all figures need to be revised. Follow the attached file for detailed comments.

6.      Improve the quality and annotations of all the figures.

7.      A discussion section is needed.

8.      Conclusions should be revised and concise.

The authors provide a good manuscript for the paper. The main issue of the paper is why the sand derbies pattern could be important. Some other points:

1) it could be nice if one of the cases in Table 1 for shallow water could be validated with the experimental or numerical model. Could validated deposition particles of sand with DPM or mixture multiphase flow?

2) Please verify what is the velocity profile in shallow water. Is it uniform and shear flow?
