Title: Study for Longitudinal Deformation of Shield Tunnel in Side  of Foundation Pit Based on Virtual Image Technique.

In this study, a prediction model of enclosure structure deformation caused by the excavation of foundation pit is introduced using  the virtual image technique.

As mention by the authors, in conclusions, several simplifications have been made in the analysis process. For example, the influence of tunnels, precipitation, layering of the foundation soil and the nonlinear effect of tunnels and soil is not considered. Therefore any scientific comments from the reviewer related to the study have no sense.

1. I hate to put it as a major feedback, but all figures in the article are unreadable. They are all blurry and numbers are hard to recognize. Also, some notations are used inconsistently. For example, line 88 says "X" but where is "X" in Figure 1? Please proofread and rework them.

2. The authors claim to "select typical engineering examples", but all the cases studied are based in eastern China (mostly Shanghai). I don't think these cases are representative enough to reach a conclusion.

3. It's hard to understand the authors' contribution by reading the into. Please consider enumerating your contribution upfront as you did in the conclusion.

Round 2

Reviewer 2 Report

As a suggestion, the authors should give a brief overview of the structure of the paper at the end of the introduction.
