Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The study is of interest and reports on the extremely relevant topic of the use of CBCT in paediatric patients. The manuscript presents some issues which need to be addressed:
- Was the questionnaire pre-tested prior to distribution?
- Was sample size estimation performed prior to study beginning? Can the study sample be considered representative of the overall dental population in the country?
- Overall, it seems that some of the questions may skew the reader’s answer. Please address this fact in the study limitations.
Minor revision is suggested.

Author Response

  1. Was the questionnaire pre-tested prior to distribution?

Ans- Yes, the pilot study for the questionnaire was done on 50 dental practitioners and students by sending the questionnaire on whats app.

  1. Was sample size estimation performed prior to study beginning? Can the study sample be considered representative of the overall dental population in the country

Ans- Yes, sample size calculation was done and the same has been added to the manuscript. Further studies can be conducted with a larger sample size and the same has been added in the limitations in the manuscript.

  1. Overall, it seems that some of the questions may skew the reader’s answer. Please address this fact in the study limitations.

Ans- Yes, this fact has been added in the limitations and added to the manuscript

Reviewer 2 Report

In this manuscript, the authors studied awareness of dental professionals on CBCT through surveys.

The manuscript is well organized and clearly written to efficiently provide the study results. For improving the quality of the manuscript, several comments are provided as follows.

  1. A brief background on the study will be useful in understanding the results. For example, what is the social environment on yielding such results.
  2. The result can be confined within the country or generalized to other countries. Both in the main and conclusion parts, some restrictions or constraints should be provided.
  3. 464-person answers to the questions are summarized and briefly analyzed. However, the summaries can lead to different conclusions depending on personal categories, e.g., pediatric dentists and students. Summaries depending on classes will be also helpful in understanding the results.

Ans- Although the questionnaires were distributed to general dental practitioners, students as well as few pediatric dentists, the individual identity for the present questionnaire was kept confidential. Also, the ratio of pediatric dentists to whom the forms were sent was less as compared to the general practitioners and students, hence the individual responses could not be compared. This valuable point has been added in the limitations and added to the manuscript. Also it is a very valuable point for further research on this topic.
