Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Major remarks:

  • In my opinion abstract and especially Introduction could be extended and more informative. I propose to set aside a separate section for "related works".

Minor remarks:

  • At the end of equations should be comma or full stop (now, sometimes we have nothing).
  • Table 2: It could be interesting to see also standard deviations (next to means). Maybe, you can even consider to add box plot for each algorithm (one plot for each parameter with 3 (Algorithms) box plots next to each other).
  • Fig 6-8: What are red points on these figures?
  • Why did you set the step size equal to 2 degrees in simulation studies
  • How did you select the exemplary successful initial condition? Did you try other values?
  • I propose alphabetical order of references.

Reviewer 2 Report

With interest, I read the manuscript. It is appreciated that the manuscript is easy to follow and not too long. The message is clear and of interest to the community. The authors proposed a paper titled " Evaluation of linearization methods for control of the Pendubot". The proposed paper seemed to be promising in terms of computational simplicity and classification accuracy. I would accept it in this present form.
