Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The paper titled Individual Differences in Risk and Protective Factors: The Role of Self-Compassion Components Among Emergency Responders, meets the stated objective, identifying the individual factors that make up the interaction between protective and vulnerability factors. Especially in first responders who, in emergency situations, use self-compassion as a coping strategy in the face of adversity.

The methodology that they have proposed in the study has been in accordance with the set objective, using scales based on the existing theory, verified and contrasted previously.

The analyzes developed have shown significant results regarding the adaptive and maladaptive resilient profiles.

In the discussion section, the findings through the study are evidenced, as well as pointing out that rescue workers are characterized by resilient profiles, in which they show a lower propensity to harmful coping strategies. Likewise, the novel contribution of this study, after the results and the contrast with previous research, lies in the use of self-compassion as external criterion to differentiate between profiles.
