- Nail plate thickness: measured as the maximum distance between the dorsal and ventral hyperechoic plates of the nail (measure A).
- Nail bed thickness: measured as the maximum distance between the ventral plate of the nail and the edge of the phalangeal bone (measure B).
- Nail plate insertion: the non-visible part of the nail plate measured from its proximal point to its distal point (measure C).
- Nail matrix length: measured from the insertion of the nail plate to the proximal point of the matrix (measure D).
- Nail matrix thickness: measured at the point of maximum matrix thickness (measure E).
