The Symmetry Editorial Office retracts the article titled “Intraosteal Behavior of Porous Scaffolds: The mCT Raw-Data Analysis as a Tool for Better Understanding” [1] cited above.
Following the publication, concerns were brought to the attention of the Editorial Office concerning the integrity of images, the lack of appropriate citations, and the fragmentation of data across publications.
Adhering to our standard procedure, the Editorial Office, the Editorial Board, and the authors’ Institution conducted an investigation and confirmed the duplication of image segments in Figure 7B published in [1] and Figure 2B published in [2], presenting different experimental conditions, as well as the lack of appropriate referencing and the fragmented publication reported between [1] and [2]. As a result, the Editorial Board has lost confidence in the integrity of the findings and has decided to retract this publication [1] as per MDPI’s retraction policy (https://www.mdpi.com/ethics#_bookmark30) and in line with the Committee on Publication Ethics retraction guidelines (https://publicationethics.org/retraction-guidelines).
This retraction was approved by the Editor-in-Chief of the Symmetry journal.
Co-author Dr. Luis Meseguer-Olmo agrees with the retraction while the remaining authors did not provide a comment on this decision.
