Round 1

Comments and Suggestions for Authors(1) The article raises an interesting ecological issue. It should be noted that international readers may be unfamiliar with the city of Xuzhou. What we may need to think about is what type of city Xuzhou is? What is its representativeness? In other words, it is impossible for Xuzhou to represent the whole of China. It should have certain regional characteristics.
(2) "Studies have shown that the ..."
What does the research here refer to?
(3) The research question should be explained in conjunction with the current social needs, especially some very urgent content.
(4) Figure 1 lacks a scale.
(5) When was the research conducted? Has it been conducted all the time? Or in a certain period of time?
(6) Chapter 3.2 can be combined with some pictures. Otherwise, this is just a list without very specific analysis, which will give people an abstract feeling.
(7) Why is Figure 4 black and white? You can choose to use some color to distinguish, especially the color with strong contrast.
(8) There are many "Laoshi" in the acknowledgments. What is this?
The English could be improved to more clearly express the research.

Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsOverall, the article is very good. Here are some issues authors need to address for the article to be re-evaluated:
1) Figure 1 should be in color. BW must be used only when dealing with historic photographs or images that should be explicitly panchromatic. It must be updated.
2) Overall, the methodology is very adequate, but there should be a process map and more pictures documenting the process.
3) Figure 3 refers to Quanshan Forest Park, or are those habitat types generic? Please explain and add the rouse to the figure.
4) The discussion needs to be more supported by graphs, maps and images. Especially with regards to maps, many of the discussions could be spatialized. The results are meaningful but they were not supported by appropriate maps and graphs.
5) Also, to those not well acquainted with bird species in China, it would be very important to add more pictures of the species cited.
Overall, the article is good. It does what was suggested, but it needs to be better supported by visual aids and enhanced in terms of explanations provided.

Round 2
Reviewer 1 Report
Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsThis round of revisions has been significantly improved. However, there are still some minor issues that need to be noted:
(1) The research objectives can be seen from the small, because case studies are not intended to solve any problems in Xuzhou. Rather, it is to gain experience from the case of Xuzhou so that international cities can refer to and learn from it.
(2) The word expressions are not consistent, such as "Yunlong Mountain, Jinshan, Taishan, East Quanshan". Should the mountains be expressed in Chinese pinyin or English?
(3) The title of Figure 9 seems to use some Chinese punctuation marks.
(4) The full abbreviations need to be consistent, such as "Figure" or "Fig."
The English could be improved to more clearly express the research.
