The introduction contains very long sentences that are difficult to understand. The results do not clearly reflect the ideas of the graphs presented. Review by a native speaker is recommended.

This paper provided a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of the scientific literature addressing the impacts of extreme weather on air transport operations. and suggested directions for future related research.The research angle of the paper is somewhat unique. The findings of the paper may be able to provide scholars with a direction or idea for further related research.

 

It is hoped that some literature charts related to cross-disciplinary research can be cited in the paper so that readers can visualize the relevant research results more, for example:

  1. In section 1.1, introducing the impact of extreme weather on Air Transport Operations, some charts and graphs from the research results of others can be appropriately cited to facilitate readers to have a more intuitive understanding of the research progress in this area.
  2. In section 1.2, some of the research findings figures on the intersection between extreme weather and other related disciplines can be cited.

The above are just a few examples, and some other relevant result charts can be added in the appropriate places.

This manuscript conducts bibliometric research on "The impact of extreme weather on air transport Operations", which has strong review reference value and certain methodological innovation.

Extreme weather events pose increasingly greater risks to air transportation operations.  Could the authors add a brief review of extreme weather events themselves to count the occurrence frequency and other relevant information of extreme weather events worldwide in the past few decades?  This part does not need to be much, but it can greatly enrich the content of this study.

In Section 3.4, the situations of different countries are presented.  It is suggested to make a comparison of the relevant data of these countries.  For example, whether the amount of research is directly related to the number of aircraft, annual passenger volume, extreme weather events, etc. of the country.  More content and information can be attempted to be mined.

In the discussion section, it is suggested that the authors appropriately increase the connection with actual cases or typical airlines/airports, such as citing the strategies and measures of specific regions in responding to extreme weather, to enhance the practical guiding significance of the research.

The authors point out that there is a problem of regional imbalance in the current research, mainly concentrated in European and American countries.  However, the analysis of the vulnerability and lack of research in dealing with extreme weather in regions such as Southeast Asia, Africa or South America is not in-depth enough.   Because of the existence of Japan, South Korea and China, I believe that the impact of extreme climate events on Asia will not be small.  It is suggested that qualitative or quantitative supplements to regional research differences be added in the discussion section.

The current charts are relatively simple.  It is suggested to add some practical charts, such as "The timeline of evolution by Research Topic", etc., to further enrich the content of this manuscript.

The manuscript provides an overview of contemporary research on the extreme weather events impact on air transport operations. The authors used modern approaches to bibliometric analysis of scientific literature, based on 1,000 publications indexed in the WoS Core Collection for the period 2010-2024. The authors identified the most significant research areas in this field, the evolution of research topics over time, the most cited scientific teams, the characteristics of country-level collaboration, and the main research gaps in this area. The manuscript is written in good scientific English. The authors' presents the results of bibliometric analysis in the form of networks with nodes, where the size of the node shows the significance of the topic or the frequency of citation, which are easy to understand.

I think that the presented literature review will be of interest to the readers of the Atmosphere journal and can be accepted for publication in present form
