Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

General comments:

The article is a little bit hard to follow. There are many long sentences. Sometimes the end of the sentence is not finished with a full stop. There are a lot of misspellings.

  • The abbreviations (DSR-ZTWr and TPR-ZTWr, etc.) are really hard to follow and I do not understand why does it need to be so complicated. Easier abbreviations should be given for the different treatments to help the reader cope with the several pieces of information.

  • Units: kilogramme does not start with capital K; so please correct all the units in the whole article accordingly: mg kg-1

  • Why did you need to plough 3-4 times within 50-60 days?

  • References: there are several journal names, (eg. Soil and Tillage Research) that are completely written out, however, according to the Authors Guide, these journals do not need to be completely written, but abbreviated. Please correct accordingly.

General comments:

Comment#3:

The article is a little bit hard to follow. There are many long sentences. Sometimes the end of the sentence is not finished with a full stop. There are a lot of misspellings.

Reply to Comment

English language and sentences are carefully improved with proper sentences as suggested by the valuable reviewer.

 Comment#4:

  • The abbreviations(DSR-ZTWr and TPR-ZTWr, etc.) are really hard to follow and I do not understand why does it need to be so complicated. Easier abbreviations should be given for the different treatments to help the reader cope with the several pieces of information.

Reply to Comment:

The abbreviations are improved with simple abbreviation as suggested by the valuable reviewer. Kindly, see the Table 2

Comment#4:

  • Units: kilogramme does not start with capital K; so please correct all the units in the whole article accordingly: mg kg-1

Reply to Comment:

Unit is corrected throughout the articles as suggested by the valuable reviewer.

Comment#5:

  • Why did you need to plough 3-4 times within 50-60 days?

Reply to Comment:

In Pakistan, especially rice -wheat cropping system, we grow two crops in a years. The time period for next crop cultivation is very short and farmer’s adopted conventional practices to plough land with 3-4 times specifically for rice crop.

 Comment#5:

  • References: there are several journal names, (eg. Soil and Tillage Research) that are completely written out, however, according to the Authors Guide, these journals do not need to be completely written, but abbreviated. Please correct accordingly.

Reply to comment:

Soil disturbance was determine on the basis of tillage implements depth application. In conventional tillage, plough shatter and break the soil around 50 cm. whereas, in conservation tillage, we use zero drill or happy seeder whose tines goes only 2-3 inches deep for sowing purpose.

Abstract:

The authors should make the objective of the work more explicit

Introduction

Line 53-55. How affect the water and energy and labor resource to soil properties? Briefly describe what the literature shows on the subject, whether it is a positive or negative effect.

The objective is clearly defined; however, it is not shown how it will be carried out. What methodology and data are used? Briefly mention

Marial and methods

I think the article could be improved by specifying the sampling procedure further. Indicated on which dates each one was taken and the period of time between one and the other.

They could also mention why it was carried out in that period of time and the depths established.

If the samples are random in both periods, the differences in means are on the average, since the effect can be due to the random selection itself and / or due to the change itself.

Has been it taken in accounting?

Table 3 is not possible to read. Please remake it.

Discussion

Line 279: The reference should be numeric: M. Singh et al., 2014 and Sinha et al., 2019

Conclusion

The author should be including the policy recommendation abouts manager of soil.

Also, the results have higher impact in the sustainability management of soil, comment the possibility and options for public and privative managers.
