The manuscript explores the reaction of glycerol with orthoesters aiming at the valorization of glycerol, and shows the possibility of selectively prepare a particular glycerol orthoester.  Both catalytic and non-catalytic routes were evaluated and the results allowed to unveiled some mechanistic insights.

The manuscript is well written and clear and the work seems to be corrected conducted.
