Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The work presented by the author is interesting and there are few points that need to be looked into,

1. The arguments and discussion of finding need to be coherent with the context, they need to be conclusive at one context of write up.

2. The article is not adequately referred, I cannot find few references are not reffered in the work.

3. It would be more supportive if issues section is provided in the article to support the work. This will be interesting for readers

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

1The authors explored how to integrate WOT and edge computing and compare their functionalities. This a very nice and easy-to-read paper on a topic very suitable for this journal. My main concerts are listed below:

1- One aspect that the article does not include is interoperability. I think that including a subsection with the different current standard solutions and adding different works in this sense would be very beneficial for the final result. Some of them can be:

[1] A Comparative Study in the Standardization of IoT Devices Using Geospatial Web Standards. IEEE Sensors Journal, 21(4), 5512-5528.

[2] Deployment of an open sensorized platform in a smart city context. Future Generation Computer Systems, 76, 221-233.

[3] From spatial data infrastructures to data spaces—A technological perspective on the evolution of European SDIs. ISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information, 9(3), 176.

[4] Internet of things. Manual of digital earth, 387-423.

[5] Design and implement an interoperable Internet of Things application based on an extended OGC sensorthings API Standard. Int. Arch. Photogramm. Remote Sens. Spatial Inf. Sci.

[6] Extending INSPIRE to the Internet of Things through SensorThings API. Geosciences, 8(6), 221.

2 - Open Challenges and Guidelines from Table 3 could be based on other research works where they have already encountered these challenges

3- Conclusions should be improved. The current version is a brief summary, a better discussion has to be added.

4- More technical papers about edge computing should be used to add better context. For example:

[1] Development of an open sensorized platform in a smart agriculture context: A vineyard support system for monitoring mildew disease. Sustainable Computing: Informatics and Systems 28, 100309

[2] Microservice based scalable IoT architecture for device interoperability. Computer Standards & Interfaces, 84, 103697.

[3] SEnviro: A sensorized platform proposal using open hardware and open standards. Sensors, 15(3), 5555-5582.

[4] A wot platform for supporting full-cycle iot solutions from edge to cloud infrastructures: A practical case. Sensors, 20(13), 3770.
