Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

I suggest a thorough review of the manuscript before accepting it for publication. To further improve the text, I suggest the following changes in the manuscript.
• Abstract: Abstract should be written in concise. I would suggest listing only some of the most important results to justify the implications and conclusions of the study.
• Keywords should not be included in the title. Please remove or substitute.
• The background of an introduction should be revised accordingly. This section must be upgraded with some latest references. I will suggest to read these articles and cite properly,

• The introduction is very good. It doesn't reflect the goal; please rewrite it again,
• Objectives of this study must be included at end of introduction part more clearly.
• What is contribution of this work to existing literature?
• It has been observed that the authors have used old references and ignored the latest studies. So it is suggested to add recent references. Please check reference section some references are missing.
• The policy implications also required elaboration. The implications should go along with the results and the course of action should be discussed in this part.
• Research Limitation and recommendations must be included in conclusion part.
• In some places, some grammatical errors are found that need to be fixed.

Abstract

  • Could the section in the original article on background and limitations of previous studies have been more specific? The author could have been more specific in this section.
  • The original abstract does not mention the method of data acquisition and the study area and the author should add to this section.
  • Inspiration and meaning should be clearer and more specific in the summary section.

    Introduction

  • Some specific data are present in the introduction section, authors are requested to indicate the source of the data.
  • The original article does not contain a detailed description of the theoretical basis of this study or the content of the study. The author should add more details on this.
  • The length of this section is large, and there is no certain correlation between the content of the preceding and following paragraphs, which can give the impression that the text is illogical and disorganised. It is recommended that the author organise the introduction by creating a secondary heading for the section.

    Literature review

  • In the literature review section of the text, the author should write around the scientific issues mentioned in the previous article so that the section has a clear logical line.
  • Some important literature in the supply chain field has been left out.

e.g.,

Li, X., Du, J., & Long, H. (2020). Mechanism for green development behavior and performance of industrial enterprises (GDBP-IE) using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, 17(22), 8450.

etc.

    Mathematical model and analysis

  • The advantages of the method, its applicability and the reasons for not choosing another method are not clearly stated in the original text and should be clarified by the author.

    Numerical analysis

  • Authors should try to place Table2 on the same page.

    Discussion

  • It is suggested that the authors add a DISCUSSION section comparing the results of this paper with those of previous authors.

    Managerial implications

  • The language may be suitably simplified in expressing the significance of the study's management. At the same time, the insights given by the author should go beyond the Chinese perspective.
  • A summary of all the revelations can be made.

    Conclusions and future research directions

  • The conclusion of the original article should add a description of the purpose, content and methods of the study.
  • In presenting the results of the study, the language can be appropriately simplified, and it is recommended that the findings of the paper be listed by point.

In conclusion, I recommend that the authors carefully revise this manuscript in light of the above comments. I sincerely look forward to receiving the revised version.

Reviewer 3 Report

Reviewer Comments:

General Overview:

It is my pleasure to review the paper entitled “Effects of carbon policy on carbon emission reduction in the supply chain under uncertain demand”. This is interesting and state of art with a detailed analysis of a supply chain consisting of a single manufacturer and a single retailer with low carbon preferences in uncertain demand markets. The paper is within the scope of Sustainability and is important for sustainable Supply Chains. However, it needs some moderate changes before publication.

I present the following comments that can help to improve the paper:

Detailed comments:

Introduction:

  1. Line 26-30: Reference?
  2. Line 219: It should be Table 2.

Methods:

  1. I would suggest the author should write a methodology heading and then can write numerical modeling etc…
  2. Figures should be in high resolution.

Results:

  1. Please provide enough details of codes and data in a supplementary file to allow the work to be reproduced by an independent researcher.
  2. How the present study could help stakeholders to adopt a sustainable supply chain?

Conclusion

  1. What are the limitations of this study?

Best,

Reviewer 4 Report

The paper titled "Effects of carbon policy on carbon emission reduction in supply chain under uncertain demand" studies a supply chain consisting of a single manufacturer and a single retailer with low carbon preferences in uncertain demand markets. Paper looks interesting. I would like to highlight the table with the differences between proposed study and existing studies. Literature sources are up to date.

I have the following suggestions:

  • Chapter title" 2.Literature review" and Chapter title 5. should be moved to the next page.
  • Please provide Figure 1 in better quality, because some words are not readable
