The wastewater treatment process employing the algal–bacterial consortia has great potential to become a major alternative to other aeration-based treatment technologies including activated sludge treatment.

The present paper present a brief review about Carbon Sequestration and Wastewater Treatment using Algal–Bacterial Consortia.

I have the following suggestions for authors:  

• the manuscript does not contain information about  microalgae use for liquid digestate treatment.  Also,  there is no related information about  biogas upgrade using microalgae.  
• I recommend citing more recent works (2020 - 2021), because there are many recent studies in this field;
