Title: Contribution of active controlled atmosphere (CA) technology to the value-chain of perishable fruits and to rural development: Case of Atemoya in Taiwan

The work is interesting and the manuscript looks to be relevant and pertinent to the scope of this journal - sustainability.

However, I have several concerns which need to be addressed to improve the quality of the paper; my comments and suggestions are listed below:

-          Section 5.1: Success in using Controlled Atmosphere Technology: authors mentioned the result in general. There is no data provided to support the results and there is a lack of discussion.

-          Author should provide the results/experimental data to explain the inhibition efficiency against pathogen under the controlled atmosphere.

-          Section 4.1: authors have given the parameters from the previous literature for eg., the % of O2 and CO2; temperature and time. But they didn’t mention any parameters used in this study to examine the report.

-          The lack of experimental details in the methods section. What different parameters were evaluated and their output in the study?

-          Change the conclusion after revising the result and discussion part

-          Lack of references in the discussion part.

-          Highlight the important points in the conclusion section.

Round 2

Reviewer 1 Report

-          Please always leave a space between the number and SI unit (e.g. 13 °C, 15 °C, etc.), however no space before the "%", "/" and ":" signs. For eg., Lines 385, 387, etc.,

-          Authors can cite and compare the MAP, active compounds, and combined technology for the postharvest preservation of perishable fruits. For eg., https://doi.org/10.1016/j.lwt.2021.111662

DOI 10.1007/s11947-017-1891-6

- The authors can provide suggestions for future researchers in the conclusion part
