Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The revised article is very interesting since it shows, in a very simple and descriptive way, the situation of the existing literature on poverty in transportation. As transport is a multidisciplinary subject, the article reflects the importance that the different areas of knowledge (medicine, engineering, economics) give to this matter. The special attention they give to sustainability is also interesting.

The article is developed adequately, presenting the importance of the topic, the database obtained, and the results, which are presented in a concise and clear manner. The only improvement that could be made is a network analysis, introducing the co-citation network of documents, of authors, of journals, or the co-occurrence network of keywords.

Reviewer 3 Report

This paper is well written and informative, and I enjoy reading this paper. I have only few comments for improvement. I hope they are helpful.

Major points:

  1. The paragraph from line 67-74 should be revised to make its Grammar correct.
  2. I think the authors should motivate why they are interested in transport poverty and sustainability better. I encourage the authors to include an additional section (after the Introduction section) and conceptually discuss the linkage between transport poverty and sustainability so that readers would know why you put so much effort on understanding the literature.
  3. on page 5, the paragraph from line 169-175, I don't see how you can get the four numbers (30, 67, 40, 59) from Table 2. Please check and clarify?
  4. Please clarity how do you determine each paper's field of knowledge. Do you use the journal's category or the authors' department information? Please clarify.

Minor points:

  1. Page 2, line 82: change "WE" to "We"
  2. Page 5, Table 3: change "University of Cincinnaty" to "University of Cincinnati"
  3. Page 8, Table 6: change "Quote" to "No. of citations"
