Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This is a concept paper that presents two procedures to account for the air pollution emissions from local transportation systems, the top-down and the bottom-up approaches. The main implication is the influence of the zero-emission vehicle introduction on the air pollution. Consequently, this paper merits to be published in Sustainability after the introduction of some minor changes.

Since both approaches may be complementary, the authors should highlight this feature along the text and in the conclusions.

Minor remarks.

Roman numerals should not be used for reference citation.

What is OGV in Fig. 1?

A short text in every arrow of Fig. 3 should indicate the origin region.

All the figures and tables should be cited in the text.

Section 4.5, part 2 Emissions impact. A reference at the end of this paragraph would be useful.

Line 403, replace CO2 by CO2.

Lines 464-465. This sentence should be edited.

Two groups of references are introduced at the end of the manuscript. Please, check if both are necessary. Moreover, the references must be written following the journal style.

Dear authors,

Please find below some suggestions to improving your paper:

  • In the final part of the introduction should clearly be stated the goal of this paper and the activities conducted for.
  • after the title of subchp.4.4., before table 3 a brief description should be given and then cite the table.
  • the titles of all figures should be under the figure
  • all equations should be written with eq.editor (not as figures)
  • the conclusions chapter should be renamed as results and discussions and leave the conclusions (up to 250 words) separately. The conclusions should clearly state the purpose of your work, activities conducted to achieve it and the main findings, as well as their contribution the scholars/academics.
  • please pay attention when cite the references within the text, as well as when mention them in the References chapter (please follow the author’s instructions). All mentioned references should be cited in the paper.

Regards,
