- Baseline audiometric assessment before initiating bortezomib therapy may facilitate the early and accurate detection of ototoxicity.
- Regular audiological monitoring could be recommended for patients, particularly those with pre-existing hearing impairment or otologic risk factors.
- Prompt intratympanic corticosteroid therapy could promote partial reversibility and help maintain an effective chemotherapy regimen.
- Multidisciplinary collaboration between hematologists and otolaryngologists is essential for early recognition and management of this uncommon auditory toxicity.
