The current work deals with the flow and heat transfer characteristics of the hydrostatic oil film in the flat microfluidic boundary layer. Based on the physical model of incompressible viscous fluid flowing in a flat microfluidic boundary layer, three equations of oil film are constructed by theories of heat transfer and hydrodynamics, and the effects of channel length, the inner temperature of a lower plate are studied. This work can positively impact industrial applications, especially ultra-precision CNC machines. Therefore, kindly include the below changes included in the manuscript.

Comment-1: Combine repetition of statements into one, on page 1, line 22 – ‘ temperature distribution and heat flux distribution are studied, such as upper plate velocity, channel length. Line 25 – “temperature distribution: channel length, the inner temperature of the lower plate and 25 upper plate velocity.”

Comment-2: On page 4, Calculate Knudsen number and include it in Table 1.

Is flow continuum, justify.

Comment-3: On pages 8, lines 195-198, “the pressure gradient gradually 195 decreases, so that the relative influence of pressure on the oil film velocity (relative to the upper plate velocity) gradually decreases, and the oil film velocity is more likely to be close to the upper plate velocity.

Is this related to Eq. 11?

Comment-4: The assumption of constant viscosity modeling is perhaps wrong. Please model in terms of simple power law and plot in Fig. 4b, retaining Fig. 4 as Fig 4a, similary do it for Figs 5, 6 and 7, 9 and 10.

Comment-5: Please mention in the manuscript which package is used to solve equations and to plot Figures.

Is it Matlab code?

Comment-6: The write-up is excellent, and it’s good to work.

This manuscript's title is "Flow and heat transfer characteristics of hydrostatic oil film in flat microfluidic boundary layer." It is about flow and heat transfer characteristics in microfluidics.

  •  Authors need to edit the abstract by giving some results. Also, the abstract need some grammatical corrections.
  • Table 1 needs to be corrected by adding the top row for the definition of each column.
  • Line 208- "The reason for this phenomenon is the following." This sentence is not complete, I believe.
  • I understood from the manuscript that this work is theoretical, not experimental. If this is completely theoretical, it will be good to change the title by adding some theoretical work.
  • The conclusion part needs to mention some of the results values.

Thanks for your great work. I believe it will be much better after these questions.

Best Regards,
