Evaluation of Solar Energy Powered Seawater Desalination Processes: A Review
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
This paper discussed three different seawater desalination processes, multistage flash, multi-effect distillation, and reverse osmosis. Also, the authors evaluated combining concentrated solar power or photovoltaic to the aforementioned three technologies. The conclusion is a solar-powered system can not only reduce carbon footprint significantly but also have some economic advantages.
1. In the abstract, is it appropriate to claim solar energy is a supplier of unlimited energy?
2. In figure 1, don't use abbreviations.
3. Is it possible to re-draw figure 4 to match the style of figures 2 and 3? The scaling of the figure is off.
4. Add a table to summarize the advantages/disadvantages of three desalination systems
5. The discussion below line 424 lacks logic.

This article discusses a fascinating topic, mainly desalination, combined with renewable energy systems, but I still have some suggestions.
1. There are typos in this manuscript. It is suggested that the spelling and symbols should be re-checked in this manuscript.
2. There mark is an error in Figure 2. Please correct it.
3. Figure 4 has abbreviations that need to be added to explain (such as TK-100, P-100, VFD…).
4. This manuscript is a review, but most references are described in the text, and figures should be added. Authors can refer to the following article format to modify.
Nabil Karamia; Nazih Moubayedb; Rachid Outbibc. General review and classification of different MPPT Techniques. Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Volume 68, Part 1, February 2017, Pages 1-18.

1. The bottom lines are to be deleted from Lines 165, 189, 206, 295, and 315.
2. Figure 2 shows the T=112C is T=112 degrees?
3. Line 415 has a typo.
