During the 2010 European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress, a European network for young cardiologists was launched by the ESC Cardiologists of Tomorrow. Since then, more than 30 national groups were formed and are internationally connected.
In 2015, also Switzerland joined this network. Swiss Cardiologists of Tomorrow (SCOT) is an official working group of the Swiss Society of Cardiology (SSC) represent ing Swiss cardiologists in training. Every cardiology fellow from a Swiss hospital can become a SCOT mem ber. The membership is free and replaces the former Junior Membership of the SSC.
SCOT aims at facilitating communication between car diologists in training as well as between young and established cardiologists – thereby promoting national and international scientific and clinical collaborations. Furthermore, the SCOT board represents the interests of its members at the SSC and the ESC, and actively par ticipates in the devolvement of the Swiss formation programme. To reach these goals, close collaboration with the SSC is essential and highly appreciated by both sides. Hence, the SCOT president is participating in the SSC board meetings and a SCOT board member is part of the SSC educational commission.
To promote interesting career opportunities for cardi ology fellows and fruitful collaborations for estab lished cardiologists, it is essential that the great majo rity of Swiss cardiology fellows are SCOT members.
Therefore, if you are a cardiology fellow, join us and be come part of the SCOT network! Also, if you are an established cardiologist, please motivate your fellows and mentees to join this exciting project! Connect with us on www.swiss-cot.ch and on the pertinent social media platforms.
