The authors would like to make the following corrections to their earlier publication [1]. The changes are as follows:

Figure/Table Legend

In the original publication, there was a mistake in the legends for Figures 1–3 and Tables 2–6. The species name “P. fimbriata” was incorrectly used in the legend text for each of these figures and tables. The correct species name is “P. shinkai”. The corrected legends appear below.
Figure 1. Sampling location of P. shinkai at Site F in the South China Sea marked by the red dot. The inset at the lower right shows a photograph of P. shinkai, with the larger specimen representing the female and the smaller one representing the male. The scale bar represents 1 cm.

Table 4. Summary of candidate SNPs in the mitochondrial PCGs of P. shinkai.
Table 5. Selective pressure analyses of the mitochondrial PSGs in P. shinkai using one-ratio and two-ratio models.
Note: * indicates diverged selective pressures between paraphyletic clades of P. shinkai and other bopyrid species with a statistical significance of a p-value of <0.05 using LRT tests in the branch model.
Table 6. Selective pressure analyses of the mitochondrial PCGs in P. shinkai using a branch-site model.
Note: ** and * indicate positive selection in P. shinkai with a statistical significance of p-values of <0.01 and <0.05, respectively.

Error in Figure/Table

In the original publication, there were mistakes in Table 1, Figures 3 and 4 as published.
For Table 1, titled “Mitochondrial genome information for the species used in the phylogenetic analysis”, the Species column incorrectly listed “Pleurocryptella fimbriata”, which has been corrected to “Pleurocryptella shinkai”.
For Figure 3, titled “Gene map of the mitogenome of P. shinkai. CR: control region; PCG: protein-coding gene; rRNA: ribosomal RNA; tRNA: transfer RNA”, the species name was incorrectly listed as “Pleurocryptella fimbriata” and has been corrected to “Pleurocryptella shinkai”. Additionally, the image of the species has been removed.
For Figure 4, titled “Phylogenetic estimate of relationships within the suborder Epicaridea based on the 13 PCGs using ML and BI analyses. The ML bootstrap support values (left) and BI posterior probability (right) are denoted at each node”, the species name was incorrectly listed as “Pleurocryptella fimbriata” and has been corrected to “Pleurocryptella shinkai”.
The corrected Table 1, Figure 3 and Figure 4 appear below.

Text Correction

There was an error in the original publication. The species name was incorrectly written as Pleurocryptella fimbriata throughout the manuscript. The correct species name is Pleurocryptella shinkai. Accordingly, the species abbreviation “P. fimbriata” has also been corrected to “P. shinkai”. These corrections have been completed in the title and throughout the entire text, including the abstract, main body, figures, and tables.
  • The erroneous species name Pleurocryptella fimbriata has been corrected to Pleurocryptella shinkai throughout the manuscript.
  • A correction has been made to the Title:
Corrected Title:
First Genomic Survey of Pleurocryptella shinkai Provides Preliminary Insights into Genome Characteristics and Evolution of a Deep-Sea Parasitic Isopod
3.
A correction has been made to Section 2. Materials and Methods, 2.4. Mitogenome Assembly and SNP Screening, Paragraphs 1 and 2:
Corrected Paragraph:
The mitogenome of P. shinkai was assembled de novo using Novoplasty v4.3.1 [22], with the published COX1 sequence of P. shinkai (GenBank accession no. MH398102, annotated as P. fimbriata, actually P. shinkai) as the seed sequence. The annotation for the mitogenome was performed using the automated mitochondrial gene annotators Geseq [23] and Geneious Prime v2025.0.2.0 [24], followed by rigorous manual verification.
To identify variations in the P. shinkai mitogenome, SNP recovery was carried out. The previously published incomplete P. shinkai mitogenome (GenBank accession no. MG729628, annotated as P. fimbriata, actually P. shinkai) served as the reference.
