Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The work addresses an interesting phenomenon of earthquake hazard and its prediction, which is very important. However, some comments are listed below and would be important to the authors addressing those points in the corrected version of the manuscript.

  • the language needs more efforts to enhance.
  • Although some similar works have been published before, but would be interesting for the authors to address/trace signals through different geomagnetic observatories to check where its variations.
  • Whether it is possible or not to connect that work with TEC in the ionosphere.
  • It would be good if the authors refrain from self-citation

Author Response

Thank you for useful counsel to improve the quality of the manuscript.

Please find further on the answer to your kind questions.

-The language needs more efforts to enhance: As we are not native English scientists, we tried to do all the best, we will ask the editor to help us.

-Although some similar work have been published before, but would be interesting for the authors to address /trace signals through different geomagnetic observatories to check where its variations. You are right, that's way it was necessarily to emphasize some self-citation; The methodologies of the pre-seismic geomagnetic signals are associated  with the geodynamic conditions and the placements of the  geomagnetic observatories. For example Mw8.1Chiapas, Mexico and Mw6.4 Albania earthquakes are generated in similar conditions (offshore subduction zones boundaries) and to investigate  singularity of the pre-seismic signals, we used BPOL parameter and BPOL* obtained from two observatories ;

-Whether it is possible or not to connect that work with TEC in atmosphere: Yes, we believe that it is possible with international efforts (cooperation between ground based observations with TEC ionosphere studies). A good example was EGU-sphere meeting ,on line, April,  2020;

-It would be good if the authors refrain from self citation: Sometimes is good to do self-citation to demonstrate authors contribution in this area, as you know, self citation is not included in Google Scholar citation- h index

Reviewer 2 Report

Paper present a very interesting topic - detecting a magnetic field precursor of the recent earthquake in Albania.  The possible reason of magnetic field variation is also analyzed.

I recommend the 2 and 3 sections to be extended giving more details on methodology and results.
