Three-dimensional reconstruction programs are essential tools for understanding the behavior of asphalt mixtures. On the basis of accurate 3D models, it is convenient to identify the complex relationship between spatial structures and physical properties. In this work, we explore a low-cost and data-efficient way to create a collection of 3D asphalt mixture models. The core idea is to introduce a foundational segmentation program and stochastic modeling into the asphalt mixture reconstruction framework. First, our approach captures a 2D image to present spatial structures of the investigated sample. The integration of a smartphone camera and an image quilting method has been designed to understand fine-grained details and facilitate full coverage. Aiming at realizing high-quality segmentation, we propose the Segment Anything Model (SAM)-driven method to distinguish aggregate grains and asphalt binder. Second, Multiple-Point Statistics (MPS) is activated to build 3D models from 2D training images. To speed up the reconstruction step, we apply Nearest Neighbor Simulation (NNSIM) to improve pattern searching efficiency. Aiming at calculating 3D conditional probabilities, the probability aggregation framework is introduced into the asphalt mixture investigation. Third, our program focuses on the modeling evaluation procedure. Determination of a two-point correlation function, analysis of distance and a grain size distribution assessment are separately performed to check the reconstruction quality. The evaluation results indicate that our program not only preserves spatial patterns but also expresses uncertainty during the material production step. Full article

By focusing on Xunzi’s concept of the sage-king and the sage-king naming theory, a new interpretive perspective can be applied to Xunzi’s doctrine of the rectification of names. During the Warring States period, mainstream views among Confucian and Daoist scholars tended to interpret the sage-king as the bearer of Heaven or Dao. However, Xunzi follows the principle of the division between Heaven and humanity, asserting that the sage-king is entirely subordinate to the realm of humans, embodying the ideal order of Confucian community. In light of this concept of the sage-king, this paper aims to address two questions: first, where the legitimacy of the sage-king naming prerogative comes from, and second, how the sage-king, as the master-signifier, quilts all floating signifiers to ensure the publicity and normativity of names. Moral norms emerge from the sage-king’s projection of intentions and emotions onto external objects. Sage-king naming theory provides the prerequisite for the superassertibility of moral norms, limiting the potential arbitrariness and private interpretations of names and norms, which ensures the public and authoritative nature of the social discourse system, thereby endowing the sage-kings with legitimacy. As the quilting point and stopping point, the sage-king performs the totalization and prohibition by means of which the floating names and norms are fixed and become parts of the structured Confucian discourse of meaning. The article is devoted to the introduction of digital watermarks, which formthe basis for copyright protection systems. Methods in this area are aimed at embedding hidden markers that are resistant to various container transformations. This paper proposes a method for embedding a digital watermark into bitmap images using Lagrange interpolation and the Bezier curve formula for five points, called Lagrange interpolation along the Bezier curve 5 (LIBC5). As a means of steganalysis, the RS method was used, which uses a sensitive method of double statistics obtained on the basis of spatial correlations in images. The output value of the RS analysis is the estimated length of the message in the image under study. The stability of the developed LIBC5 method to the detection of message transmission by the RS method has been experimentally determined. The developed method proved to be resistant to RS analysis. A study of the LIBC5 method showed an improvement in quilting resistance compared to that of the INMI image embedding method, which also uses Lagrange interpolation. Thus, the LIBC5 stegosystem can be successfully used to protect confidential data and copyrights. Full article

In this paper, we investigate the use of augmented reality technology within an E-textile environment. We place particular emphasis on the analysis of key performance and responsiveness metrics when utilizing augmented reality (AR) applications for embroidery-based logo/design image detection and recognition. To support this analysis and validation, we designed and created four test embroidered images, a fabric quilt with embroidered marker images, and a supporting augmented reality application. From an E-textile point of view, we explore the effects of high/low contrast thread colors, diverse light levels (lux measurements), and the range of angles at which the mobile device/camera, with the associated AR application, can be pointed towards the fabric-embroidered marker. This allows us to assess the level of functionality and responsiveness of the AR application and the overall performance in the testing environment, enabling more fluid usability of the AR-enabled E-textile application.
