Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
This issue focuses on studies and case reports related to the pathophysiology of SARS-CoV-2 and biomarkers that are useful in monitoring disease trajectories. Three years after this pandemic emerged, research focus is shifting towards long-term COVID-19 patients and their treatment. There is great interest in publishing studies and case reports that examine the etiologies of long-term symptoms in these patients, biomarker assays that are useful for following these patients, and promising treatments. Studies and case reports that focus on unusual manifestations and long-term symptoms of SARS-CoV-2 infection are welcome, too. Lastly, we are interested in studies and reports that further examine molecular mechanisms of SARS-CoV-2 infection and recovery.
