Empowering Academic Growth with MDPI Academic Publishing Workshop at Chiang Mai University, 5 June 2026


We are excited to announce the MDPI Academic Publishing Workshop, which will be hosted in partnership with Chiang Mai University. This collaboration reflects a mutual commitment to advancing interdisciplinary research that responds to global sustainability challenges through innovative approaches, cross-sector collaboration, and transformative solutions.

Designed with early-career researchers and innovators in mind, the workshop will provide practical skills to assist participants in increasing the impact of their scholarly work and building meaningful international connections.

Chair

 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Apichat Tantraworasin is an Associate Professor of surgery, currently serving as Head of the Clinical Epidemiology and Clinical Statistics Center and Associate Dean for Postgraduate Affairs at the Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University.
He obtained his PhD in clinical epidemiology from Chiang Mai University in 2013.
His academic and professional background includes international research experience as a Research Fellow in Thoracic Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (2015–2017). He has extensive experience in clinical research, including multiple research ethics and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training programs, and is currently involved in seven active research projects.
He has authored more than 110 scientific publications, reflecting significant contributions to clinical and epidemiological research.
His research has been supported by several competitive grants, including funding from HITAP (2012), the Center of Excellence (COE) in Clinical Surgical Research Center, Chiang Mai University (2022–2023), and ongoing support from the Clinical Surgical Research Center (2023–2025). He is also leading a project on PM2.5 and air-pollution-related non-communicable diseases, focusing on the bioaccumulation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in human lung tissues (2023–2024). His achievements have been recognized through multiple awards, including the Excellent Instructor Award (2013), Research Fellowship Awards from both Chiang Mai University and international conferences, and the Developing Nations Travel Award at the World Conference on Lung Cancer (2017).

 

MDPI Speakers:

 

Mr. Pongsakorn Vithayanon obtained his master’s degree in food biotechnology from The Faculty of Biotechnology, Assumption University. He joined MDPI in February 2023 as an Assistant Editor for International Journal of Molecular Sciences (IJMS). He was appointed as a Section Managing Editor in 2024 and worked as a Group Leader from 2024 to present. He is now one of MDPI’s Deputy Managing Editor for the Editorial Office of IJMS.

Dr. Krit Inthajak obtained his PhD in engineering and technology from Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology, Thammasat University. He joined MDPI in March 2020 as an Assistant Editor for Molecules. He was appointed as a Section Managing Editor in 2021 and worked as a Group Leader from 2021 to 2024. He is now one of MDPI’s Regional Journal Relations Specialists for the Asia–Pacific region.

Dr. Juthathip Poofery holds a PhD in biochemistry from the Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University, Thailand. She began working at MDPI in 2021 as an Assistant Editor for Medicina and advanced to the position of Section Managing Editor in 2022. Since 2023, Dr. Poofery has been serving as the Group Leader of the “Medical Science” Section, where she oversees editorial operations and contributes to the advancement of research in the field.

Ms. Hathaipat Kittirojana obtained her master’s degree in food science and biotechnology from Teesside University. She joined MDPI in December 2020 as an Assistant Editor for the Journal of Imaging. She was appointed as a Section Managing Editor in March 2023 and a Regional Journal Relations Specialist for the Asia–Pacific region in July 2024.

Ms. Ploy Assavajamroon obtained her master’s degree in chemistry from Thammasat University, Thailand, in 2020 and joined MDPI as an Assistant Editor for the journal Crystals in the same year. She became a Section Managing Editor in 2021 and a Group Leader in 2022. She is currently one of MDPI’s Regional Journal Relations Specialists for the Asia–Pacific region.

Dr. Siriporn Tantiwatcharothai obtained her PhD in applied chemistry from the Faculty of Science, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. She joined MDPI in December 2022 as an Assistant Editor for Catalysts. In 2024, she was promoted to Section Managing Editor, and as of April 2025, she served as the Chief Section Managing Editor.

Ms. Pratthana Kruekantha is a chemistry graduate from Chiang Mai University and has been with MDPI since June 2022. Now a Proofreading Editor, she has built a solid production foundation across roles including Final Checker, Cross Checker, and LaTeX Editor. A certified Layout and Conversion Tutor, she also served as a Training Assistant for one year, actively supporting the Production Department’s learning and development initiatives.
