Dear Colleagues,
The Special Issue, titled "Navigating Inequality and Well-Being in the Changing World of Work: A Cross-Sectoral Perspective", aims to examine the complex and evolving dynamics between technological transformation, labor market shifts, and social equity across different sectors. It seeks to address how digitalization, sustainability transitions, and evolving employment structures impact both inequality and well-being, with a focus on understanding these phenomena through a cross-sectoral lens.
Key areas of interest include cross-sectoral digital transformation, the digital workplace, inclusive innovation, and digital well-being—all of which represent fundamental components of current labor transformations. The issue will also explore inequality in digital work, the future of work trajectories, employability, and the emergence of green and sustainable jobs, reflecting broader concerns regarding access, inclusion, and workforce resilience in an era of rapid change.
Additionally, this issue will investigate policy innovation for inclusive work environments, employment transitions, skill mismatch and upskilling, and job quality and well-being, aligning these topics with major developments in labor economics, public policy, and organizational studies. In doing so, the issue builds on and extends existing literature by emphasizing a multi-level, comparative approach that accounts for the diverse impacts of global labor transformations across sectors and regions.
By contributing empirical research, policy analysis, and theoretical insights, this issue aims to inform ongoing debates on how to foster fair, adaptive, and inclusive work environments in response to digital, environmental, and societal change.
Contributions must follow one of the three categories of papers (article, conceptual paper or review) of the journal and address the topic of the Special Issue. Original research articles and reviews are welcome.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as conceptual papers are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a double-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Societies is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
