Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The primary aim of this Special Issue on advances in dental education is to collect and publish high-quality manuscripts that explore contemporary innovations, research, and emerging trends in dental education across all levels of training. As dental curricula evolve in response to technological progress, changing healthcare systems, and shifting societal needs, this Special Issue seeks to highlight evidence-based approaches that enhance teaching, learning, assessment, and professional development.

We invite submissions addressing, but not limited to, the following topics:

  • Curriculum design, reform, and competency-based education;
  • Innovative pedagogical strategies, including simulation, digital learning, and blended education;
  • Assessment methodologies and program evaluation;
  • Faculty development and leadership in dental education;
  • Interprofessional education and collaborative practice models;
  • Integration of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in dental training;
  • Student well-being, resilience, and professional identity formation;
  • Equity, diversity, and inclusion in dental education;
  • Global perspectives and internationalization of dental curricula.

This Special Issue aims to serve as a platform for educators, researchers, and institutional leaders to share scholarship and forward-thinking perspectives that shape the future of dental education. This Special Issue will promote innovation, foster academic dialog, and support excellence in preparing the next generation of oral healthcare professionals.
