Dear Colleagues,
The Special Issue “Advances in Modelling of Cement-Based Materials and Concrete Structures” aims to gather recent scientific contributions focused on the development, calibration, validation, and application of modelling strategies for cementitious materials and concrete-made systems. In this regard, this Special Issue welcomes original research and review articles addressing numerical, analytical, experimental, data-driven, and multi-scale approaches intended to improve the understanding of mechanical behaviour, durability, cracking, fracture, transport phenomena, long-term degradation, and structural performance. Particular attention is given to studies that integrate constitutive modelling, soil-structure interaction, finite element analysis, artificial intelligence, optimization techniques, life-cycle assessment, and performance-based design to support more reliable and/or sustainable construction practices. The scope also includes the modelling of conventional and low-carbon cement-based composites, recycled aggregate concrete, supplementary cementitious materials, geopolymer systems, fiber-reinforced materials, and concrete structures subjected to complex loading or environmental actions. Overall, this Special Issue seeks to provide a rigorous platform for advancing predictive tools that can assist researchers, engineers, and decision-makers in designing safer, more durable, and environmentally efficient cement-based materials and concrete infrastructure.

Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Modelling is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
