- “The Mu2e Calorimeter”

Fabio Happacher is a researcher of INFN and works on experiments both at Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati and at Fermilab (Chicago). Besides his interest in particle physics, and in designing experiments for searching processes predicted by physics models beyond the standard model, his main technological field is in the design of cutting-edge calorimeters. In the Mu2e experiment, he designed, and is in the process of building, a calorimeter that will provide unprecedented energy resolution capability with an ability to operate in a very harsh environment. He is responsible for the mechanical design and assembly of the calorimeter, as well as commissioning it for the Mu2e experiment which will start taking data in 2024.
