A section of Diseases (ISSN 2079-9721).
This section of Diseases (ISSN 2079-9721) will provide an open platform for researchers to delve into all aspects of diseases of the gastro-intestinal tract including the liver and pancreas, both in children and in adults. A specific interest of this section will be devoted to original work addressing the complex interaction between nutrition and gastrointestinal diseases, particularly in the area of gluten-related disorders. We encourage submission of original research papers, as well as interesting case-reports, focused on clinical and epidemiological aspects of gastrointestinal diseases. Documents produced by national and international Societies (guidelines, recommendations, etc.) are particularly welcome. The ultimate goal is to provide a platform for all health professionals to share knowledge, providing a better understanding of etiology, prevention, pathogenic mechanisms and clinical aspects, in order to improve the treatment and management of patients suffering from gastroenterological disorders.
Gastroenterological topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- gene–environmental interaction
- nutrition related disorders
- nutrition/intestinal microbiome/gut interactions
- evolutionary aspects of diseases
- psycho-social aspects
- diagnostic tools
- patients’ care
- clinical aspects
- patients’ management
