The 12th International Conference on Fine Particles Magnetism (ICFPM) will take place in Bariloche, Argentina, from October 19 to 23, 2025. The ICFPM series provides an international platform for discussing the physics of systems composed of magnetic nanoparticles, their fundamental properties, underlying phenomena, preparation methods, characterization techniques, and applications.
The inaugural conference was held in Rome in 1991, followed by Bangor (1996), Barcelona (1999), Pittsburgh (2002), London (2004), Rome (2007), Uppsala (2010), Perpignan (2013), Gaithersburg (2016), Gijón (2019), and Yokohama (2022). For the first time, ICFPM will be hosted in the southern hemisphere and, specifically, in Latin America.
San Carlos de Bariloche, commonly known as Bariloche, is a beautiful city within the Nahuel Huapi National Park at the foothills of the Andes. It is celebrated as Argentina’s Capital of Adventure Tourism and Capital of Chocolate. The conference sessions will be held at the Instituto Balseiro, located within the Bariloche Atomic Center (CAB). CAB is a renowned Argentine center for advanced scientific and technological research and development in fields such as nuclear energy, space, telecommunications, and nanotechnology.

Dear students and researchers in the field of magnetism,
We are pleased to welcome you to the XII Brazilian School of Magnetism (EBM), which will take place in Natal, Brazil, from November 3 to 7, 2025. The EBM was established in 1998 to integrate research groups from various institutions working in the field of magnetism and to address the need for a dedicated event focused on training students in this area. It aims to provide undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and early-career scientists with the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in this important area of physics. The event fosters the development of highly qualified professionals in the field of magnetism while also sparking interest and attracting new talent to the field. In its current format, the School features lectures by renowned national and international researchers, as well as poster sessions and workshops covering both theoretical and experimental aspects of magnetism. Held biennially, the EBM has had 11 successful editions in different cities and regions of Brazil. For its 12th edition, the School returns to Northeastern Brazil, and we are delighted to host it in Natal under the coordination of Professors Felipe Bohn and Marcio Assolin Correa.
In line with the broad and diverse nature of the field, the Brazilian School of Magnetism covers a wide range of topics, including but not limited to the following:
- Fundamental aspects of magnetism, including magnetization processes, magnetic domains, micromagnetism, and related phenomena;
- Magnetization dynamics and processes in nanostructured systems;
- Magnetic materials and their properties;
- Experimental techniques, methodologies, and instrumentation in magnetism;
- Computational methods and simulations applied to magnetic systems;
- Nanomagnetism and size-dependent magnetic effects;
- Spintronics and spin-dependent phenomena;
- Industrial applications of magnetism and magnetic materials;
- Additional emerging or interdisciplinary topics within the field.
We look forward to an inspiring and productive week of learning, collaboration, and scientific exchange.
Sincerely,
Felipe Bohn and Marcio Assolin Correa
