Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
We invite submissions to the Special Issue “Multiphysics Approaches to Heat, Mass, and Fluid Flow in Industrial Engineering Using Applied Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence.”
Coupled heat transfer, mass transport, and fluid flow processes are governed by complex nonlinear and multiscale mathematical models. Recent advances in applied mathematics, numerical analysis, and artificial intelligence have significantly improved the modeling, analysis, and simulation of such multiphysics systems.
This Special Issue focuses on mathematical and AI-driven approaches for the formulation, analysis, and computation of coupled transport phenomena in industrial engineering. Contributions addressing analytical and numerical methods, fractional and nonlinear models, and data-driven or machine learning-assisted techniques are particularly encouraged.
We welcome original research articles, reviews, and concise case studies with a strong foundation in mathematics or AI. We look forward to your valuable contributions to this Special Issue, which aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and advance knowledge in this important field.
This Special Issue, “Multiphysics Approaches to Heat, Mass, and Fluid Flow in Industrial Engineering Using Applied Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence,” seeks to advance the mathematical modeling and AI-driven analysis of coupled transport phenomena in industrial systems. It emphasizes rigorous applied mathematics, including analytical, semi-analytical, and numerical techniques that are integrated with artificial intelligence and machine learning to address complex, nonlinear, and multiscale processes. Contributions that develop novel mathematical frameworks, enhance AI-assisted simulations, or provide deep insight into the underlying physics of multiphysics systems are particularly encouraged. This issue aims to bridge classical mathematical modeling with cutting-edge AI methodologies, offering innovative tools for accurate, efficient, and predictive industrial engineering applications.
Focus, Scope, and Purpose
This Special Issue, “Multiphysics Approaches to Heat, Mass, and Fluid Flow in Industrial Engineering Using Applied Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence,” focuses on rigorous mathematical modeling and AI-driven analysis of coupled transport phenomena in industrial systems. It encompasses analytical, semi-analytical, and numerical methods, AI- and machine learning-assisted modeling, fractional and nonlinear formulations, and data-driven simulations for complex, multiscale processes. The purpose is to advance both the theoretical foundations and practical applications of multiphysics modeling, providing innovative, accurate, and predictive tools for industrial engineering.
Relation to Existing Literature
While substantial research exists on multiphysics modeling and computational approaches, studies often treat mathematics and AI separately. This Special Issue bridges the gap by integrating rigorous applied mathematics with AI-driven techniques, enhancing predictive accuracy, computational efficiency, and adaptability. It supplements current literature by offering novel frameworks for modeling, simulation, and optimization of complex industrial transport phenomena.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Axioms is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
